Expedite Base/MVS® is a communication feature of EDI Services that runs in the MVS host environment. Expedite Base/MVS is used to exchange electronic data with trading partners via Information Exchange.

Expedite Base/MVS 4.6.1 takes advantage of many communication features of Information Exchange, such as international reach, distribution support, alias tables, archive capability, audit capability, selective message receive, and a flexible message retention period

With Expedite Base/MVS 4.6.1, you can:

• Benefit from faster access to your Information Exchange mailbox with support for both TCP/IP and SNA access.
• Benefit from additional security provided through SSL connectivity over TCP/IP via the Internet.
• Streamline business with your trading partners by communicating electronically.
• Send and receive e-mail messages, system files, purchase orders, invoices, and other documents.
• Benefit from improved performance, especially when sending and receiving large files.

Expedite Base/MVS 4.6.1 is the GXS version of Expedite Base/MVS and is functionally equivalent to Expedite Base/MVS 4.6. Customers that currently have Expedite Base/MVS 4.6 are not required to upgrade at this time. The changes contained in this modification are:

• Replacement of IBM with GXS1 as the high-level qualifier for datasets on the 3480 cartridge
• New GXS FMID and VOLSER of the 3480 cartridge
• Updated copyright statements in the packaging to reference GXS, Inc.
• Program Directory has been updated to refer to GXS, Inc.
