The minimum hardware and software requirements for Expedite
Base for Windows 4.7.1 are:
Hardware
Requirements
An IBM workstation (or compatible) capable of running
Microsoft 2000, 2003 Server, or XP.
A hard disk with 64 Mb RAM, and 79 Mb disk storage for
full installation with additional 45 MB of temporary space.
If using asynchronous communication, a modem that supports
Hayes AT command set, V.32, V.34, X2, or V.90 protocols. Note: Only X2 and V.90 protocols support all the
bps rates supported by Expedite Base for Windows.
If using TCP/IP dial access, a modem supported by the
IP Dialer.
If using an internal or external modem for asynchronous
or TCP/IP dial communication, an asynchronous communication
adapter or native serial port.
If using TCP/IP leased-line communication, a leased
line and the appropriate hardware to connect to the leased
line.
If you are using SSL connectivity via the Internet,
contact your Internet service provider for hardware requirements.
Software
Requirements
You need one of the following Microsoft operating systems:
Windows 2000
Windows 2003 Server
Windows XP
For standard TCP/IP communication, access to Information
Exchange must be established before you can send and receive
messages. To do this, you must register your Information
Exchange user ID and your network ID for TCP/IP communication
with the network.
For SSL TCP/IP communications, access to the Internet
is required. You must also obtain a certificate from the
IBM Public Key Infrastructure Web site at URL: http://pki.services.ibm.com/expedite.
On this site, you can create and download a certificate
for accessing Information Exchange through the Internet
or through the AT&T network.
Migrating
from a previous release of Expedite Base for Windows
You can install Expedite Base for Windows Version 4.7.1
in the same directory or on the same system as any Expedite
Base for Windows 4.x. Do not install it in the same directory
as Expedite Base for Windows LAN. You do not need to update
your application unless you want to take advantage of the
new features.
Ordering
There is no need to order Expedite Base for Windows. It
is only available by downloading
it from our Web site.
Registration

before you can send and receive messages. To do this, you
must register your Information Exchange user ID and your
network ID for TCP/IP communication with the network.
