Expedite Base for Windows

An Information Exchange session begins when you log on to Information Exchange, continues during the processing of commands, and ends when you log off Information Exchange.

To establish a session with Information Exchange, you perform the following tasks with Expedite Base for Windows:

 
  1. Create a profile command file (input file).
  2. Specify message commands, such as SEND or RECEIVE, in the message command file (message input file).
  3. Run the Expedite Base for Windows program by launching from Start > Programs > Expedite Base for Windows folder or by typing iebase on the Windows command line or calling the program from another application.
 
When you run the program, Expedite Base for Windows does the following:
 
  1. Processes the profile commands in the input file and writes reponses to the profile response file (output file).
  2. Establishes a connection to the network and logs on using your network account ID, user ID, and password in the input file.
  3. Logs on to Information Exchange using your Information Exchange account, user ID, and password in the input file and starts a session.
  4. Processes the message commands in the message input file and writes response to the message response file.
  5. Ends the Information Exchange session, logs off the network, and terminates the connection.
  6. Writes the final return code to the message response file.
