Support for Expedite Base/MVS V4 releases

Customers affected: All Information Exchange customers using Expedite Base/MVS

This technical bulletin contains information about support for Expedite Base/MVS V4 releases

• The currently supported and marketed release is Expedite Base/MVS 4.6.
  
  
• New Expedite customers requesting Expedite Base/MVS will be shipped the 4.6 release. This release requires the customer to have z/OS V1.4 or higher.
  
  
• Current customers using Expedite Base/MVS 4.5 can continue to receive first and second level support on that release until June 1, 2006. If a fix is required for a problem with that release, we will attempt to correct the problem with a PTF (program temporary fix). Expedite Base MVS 4.5 will not be repackaged to incorporate any fixes. In some situations the customer may have to upgrade to the 4.6 release in order for the problem to be resolved. If the client wishes to take advantage of new features in the 4.6 version, an upgrade will be required.
  
  
• Current customers using an Expedite Base/MVS release lower than 4.5 who do not have z/OS V1.4 or higher and require an Expedite Base/MVS release supporting IP, can request a copy of Expedite Base/MVS 4.5. This exception process will be discontinued as of December 31, 2005; thereafter only the 4.6 release will be available. All customers are encouraged to upgrade to z/OS V1.4 or higher and request Expedite Base/MVS 4.6.
