PTF JN00616
PTF JN00616 for Expedite Base/MVS 4.5 will be available
on or after August 22, 2003. This PTF was tested on both
OS/390® 2.10 and z/OS® 1.2 and contains program
fixes for the following:
- Corrupted data can be written to the output file when
restarting a session using checkpoint-level, file-level,
or user-level recovery.
- A write failure (21810) can occur on the RCVWORK file
when restarting a session using checkpoint-level, file-level,
or user-level recovery.
- Prior to PTF JN00616, when Expedite Base/MVS users issued
the TCPCOMM command to connect to Information Exchange,
Expedite Base/MVS would search through a list of host
and port pairs, such as IETCPHOSTn/IETCPPORTn
to make the connection. If the first host and port pair
in the list failed to make a connection to Information
Exchange, Expedite Base/MVS would issue an error and the
connection would fail, even if Expedite Base/MVS found
a subsequent pair to make a successful connection.
Using PTF JN00616, Expedite Base/MVS users can achieve
a connection with the TCPCOMM command, even if the connection
to the first host and port pair failed. Users are still
notified of the connection error, but this error no
longer prohibits connection to Information Exchange.
Operating System Support Update
Expedite Base/MVS 4.5 is supported on z/OS 1.2. Users of
checkpoint-level, file-level, or user-level recovery should
consider upgrading to PTF JN00616. Otherwise, no program
update is required to support z/OS 1.2. Expedite Base/MVS
4.5 is supported on the following operating system releases:
- OS/390 2.10
- z/OS 1.2 (newly added)
