Invalidation of X.509 certificates

Customers who access the TCP/IP FTP gateway using the Internet may now contact Contact Us to have their certificates revoked. Customers may want to have their certification invalidated if, for example, they are no longer using the service or feel their access to the service may have been compromised.

Self-registration process

Information Exchange users who use Managed Data Network Services can now self-register for the Internet if they want to try this service. Users can self-register from their Information Exchange mailbox by submitting a predetermined registration form. Once they have registered, they receive a pair of Identification tokens in their originating mailbox. They can use these tokens to access the certificate issue and reissue Web site (see https://pki.services.ibm.com ). Details of the self-registration process and registration form can be found on the certificate issue and reissue Web site.

Internet users whose certificate is due to expire can also use the self-registration process.

Renewal of expired certificates

Internet gateway users receive an expiry notification by e-mail (if they supplied their e-mail address when they originally registered) 60 days before their certificate is due to expire. If they still have their original Identification tokens, they can use those tokens to obtain a new certificate from the certificate issue and reissue Web site. If they have lost their original tokens, they can use the self-registration process to obtain new tokens. Users receive a second expiry notification 30 days after the first notification if they have not renewed their certificates.
